I've played it with the PN before, but the past couple of times I've used it I must have dialed in the perfect settings for the whole rig and it felt like magic. Then I brought my main strat, an all mahogany/chambered w/ Vintage Vibe P90s on Sunday in case we laid down any tracks. We've been rehearsing a lot lately, so I've been playing my strat with Burns Tri-sonic p'ups mostly. I adjust the volume for a slight boost and usually keep the gain all the way off, but might add just a smidge. It reacts very well to the guitar volume, with a more gradual transition from dirty to clean(er) than a Ge Fuzz Face, and without the overly-bright, scratchy clean tone you get by rolling back many Si fuzzes-IMO, of course.įor my classic rock cover band, and for P&W, I use it for additional volume/grit after my Barber Direct Drive Low Gain. I'll occasionally goose it with a DeMarco KloneBender MKIII or a Fuzzhugger Algal Bloom-sounds great with either. For my alt country band, it's my main OD, gain and volume both about 10:00 into a Top Hat Club Deluxe set just on the verge of breakup. I use it in different roles for different projects. I don't miss a tone control at all, it is nice and simple as-is. Has a nice fat sound without the at times overwhelming bottom of the Ghetto Stomp. I love the Purple Nurple! It replaced a Greer Ghetto Stomp (which I still think is a great pedal, btw) in the "fuzzy OD" spot on my board. In short, the PN does what every good pedal does in a stacking situation-that is, makes everything just sound a little different, some boxes better, and all VERY usable! At this point I had broken into a DLS-PN-PIC WAH frenzy, and was pulling up some very Clapton-Cream era tones.at which point my daughter and her boyfriend came in and I shut it all down!īut yes, that Purple Nurple looks to be a keeper.and I'm going to check out more BMF pedals in the near future!

Next was the legendary Sunlion.gave the Sunlion's Sunface side a almost tangible roundness and even more suculent tone! (At this point my windows were vibrating!).

The KOT V4 Red Side Higher Gain Mod was next.oh my! Sounded GREAT with either the Yellow or the Red side. DLS V2-YES! Especially with the DLS in the RAWK mode, a mode I hardly ever use! This produced a really nasty-ass-like "Hellhounds On My Trail" growl, and yes, DLS fans, gave it more Marshall character. This was a marriage made in heaven, but, alas, EVERYTHING seems to stack well with a Timmy, so I had to try some other combinations. On the instruction sheet, BMF Scott (I figure if we have Analogman Mike, we can have BMF Scott, it works so well on many levels) indicates that it really works best on an amp that's on the verge of breakup.so first I stacked it with a Timmy, set to mildly OD my amp. I really don't have a good reference point for !Īfter giving it a workout solo for a while, I decided to test its stacking capability. The lower drive settings are smooth and creamy. It does react very much like a fuzz at higher drive settings.and cleans up incredibly well with the guitar's volume knob (This was a pleasant cleans up as well as any germanium fuzz I've ever tried, maybe even better).

The PN just has a Volume and Drive, so I was praying to the gods of TGP that it would have decent bass response.yes it does! Nice, tight bass and smooth mids. Is the PN a fuzz? Is it a distortion pedal? Yes and Yes! First, let me say that I have become a fuzzaholic.I guess I've listened to too many Marc Ford live shows! I've always been cautious about buying ODs/Fuzzes that didn't have any kind of "tone" control, as I've been burned by a few that were too bright.

Plugged the board into the '61 Deluxe and pulled out the '59 Chambered Historic in honor of Les himself, and off we went. Got it today and stuck it onto the Pedaltrain. Nurple is the only member of Romper's crew whose name doesn't begin with the letter of the color he is wearing, however, his name does refer to purple nurples maintaining the correspondence between codenames and the color worn. The name Nurple is a reference to purple nurple, the act of grabbing and twisting a nipple of another person. He is also one of the members who escaped the authorities alongside Rompers, Oingo, and Boingo. That proves he does his best to be an enforcer and reinforce Romper's orders. Rompers, this backed up by the fact he rushed the women out the bathroom when the time was up. He is possibly the most competent member other than Mr. Biography Season 7 " Bel Panto: Part I" " Bel Panto: Part II" Personality
